I studied to become a doctor because through medicine I can contribute to a better world and help so many women in need. Since I was little I was intrigued by how chronic diseases often cut short the lives of women around me. I hardly knew my paternal grandmother before she passed and I lost my maternal grandmother; both victims of chronic diseases. Oncologic surgery allows me to help save, extend or improve the lives of many women as they face one of the most devastating epidemics of our eras. What I like the most about my job is helping those that are in dire need by permitting to have more time with their loved ones.
