I have a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Costa Rica. I studied my initial postgraduate studies, completing my residency in Dermatology in the Graduate Studies System of the University of Costa Rica and later, abroad, specializing in Clinical Allergology. I studied allergology in the Allergy Section of the Pneumology and Allergy Service of the Hospital Universitari Clínic in Barcelona and my Master in Science (MSc) in Allergology in Imperial College London, based in St Mary`s Hospital in London.
During my preparation abroad, I was part of research studies in the area of ​​respiratory allergy, with emphasis on respiratory allergy by dust mites. Also, I participated in multicentre studies of chronic urticaria (AWARE study) and severe atopic dermatitis (Sanofi-Dupixent® European Database).
I have participated in the organization and evaluation of specialized clinics for patients with joint allergological and dermatological conditions, with special emphasis on chronic urticaria, angioedema, severe atopic dermatitis, severe reactions to drugs and drug desensitization therapy (antibiotics, chemotherapy and biology).
I dedicated my current clinical practice to the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of skin diseases and allergic conditions (rhinitis, asthma, food, insects, animals) hoping to have a positive impact on the quality of life and health of those who they suffer from these conditions.
